Gym Operations

  1. Rules at the gym

    • No bags/backpacks on the gym floor. Take only the equipment that you immediately need out on the floor with you, and please leave your bag and the rest of your equipment in the locker room.

    • Do your best to take up as little space/equipment as possible.  We have very limited space for the number of athletes we have on-site, and we need everyone to work together to make things as safe and as efficient as possible.

      1. If you have lifting that doesn’t require a rack/rig station, set up away from the rig (i.e. if you are doing snatches/cleans, don’t set up right in front of the rig and occupy a squatting/gymnastics station)

      2. If you are using machines, try to keep them away from the open spaces where other athletes need to be (i.e. don’t set up 3 machines right in the middle of the floor)

      3. If you have multiple sections in your workout, don’t set things up too far ahead of time and occupy space that you don’t currently need

    • Leave the gym cleaner than you found it. This is a shared space, don’t make someone else clean up your mess.

      1. Wipe down any machines that you used with the spray bottles and washcloths available by the entrance

      2. Use the wire brushes hanging by the barbells to brush the chalk/residue from each bar after each use.  If there is blood on a barbell or pullup bar, spray first and then wipe clean.

      3. Use the shop vac that is in the middle of the floor adjacent to the water fountain to clean up any climbing rope fibers, or spilled chalk.

      4. Make sure all equipment goes back to where you got it from, or back to where it belongs, as QUICKLY as you can.  Finish your workout, recover, but then clean up your space before you socialize or become occupied on your phone.

    • Respect the equipment.  You can still workout with intensity while being mindful about how you handle things.

      1. Don’t drop the dumbbells to the floor from higher than hip height

      2. Be careful wheeling machines around or outside so as not to damage the wheels or machine itself

      3. Don’t throw the clock remotes around or drop them, set them back in their holder or on top of the clock they belong to

      4. If you find something that is broken or does not appear to be working properly, do NOT ignore it. Take a picture and/or immediately text/email John (jp@trainingthinktank.com, 305-753-8726) to report it so that we can address it.

    • Respect each other. There are always going to be unavoidable conflicts with space/equipment/clocks/etc. Our expectation of any on-site TTT athlete is that you will handle these situations as maturely and as fairly as possible. If we notice any trends with any individual treating others disrespectfully, they will be removed from the on-site training environment.

Introduce yourself to people you do not know. This is a small group environment with athletes from all over the Unites States and the world. Take some time to get to know your fellow TTT athlete and the athletes from United Performance.

  2. Equipment

    • If you would like to borrow equipment, or use any equipment to train off-site, you must text/email John at LEAST 24 hours in advance, and have written permission from him before doing so.

    • If there is a piece of new equipment that you would like to request the gym to purchase, email either your coach or John with the details of it, the pricing, and why you think TTT needs it.  We will handle these on a case-by-case basis.

  3. Training Groups

    • If there is a group of 3 or more athletes training together or doing the same workout, this MUST take place during United’s non-class hours.

      * The current and only exception to this is the coach-led Throwdowns on Saturday mornings.

  4. Cameras and video surveillance

    • The building is under 24 hour video surveillance both inside and outside. Access to this video is limited to Emergencies or in special circumstance you can email and request access. Please note the specific time and camera location.

Facility Usage Fee

We encourage all TTT athletes to visit TTT HQ as often as possible to work with/meet/train with the coaches.  However with the increasing growth of the business and the continuing efforts to produce additional online educational materials, we need to set up some guidelines so that the coaches are are able to maintain the highest quality of individual remote coaching.

On site athletes will be charged $150/month for facility usage. As we are not a CF group class facility this fee goes directly to paying our rent and equipment maintenance/upkeep.

If an athlete wants to come for an extended period of time, a combination of both visits can be made, however 2 week prior notification is required and the specific dates/times for athlete/coach must be established prior.

Membership Termination
